Baptismal Seminar

THINGS BAPTISMAL PARENTS NEED TO KNOW
  1. The Baptism seminar will last about two hours. There is work and discussion to be done. For this reason it would seem better for you to have a babysitter to look after your child/children.

  2. The seminar is just one part and takes place on the second (2nd) Tuesday of each month. As is stated in the bulletin, we expect parents to attend the seminar in their fifth or sixth month of pregnancy. The seminar is held in the Rectory at 7:30 p.m.

  3. We ask for a donation of $5.00 from each couple to defray the expenses of the seminar – books, etc. Please do not allow the lack of money keep you way from the seminar. Please come even if you cannot afford the $5.00.

  4. If you should have any problems with any of the above instructions, please contact the Rectory at 833-4118.

  5. At least ONE sponsor MUST be a practicing Catholic – i.e., must be 16 years of age, received the Sacrament of Confirmation and goes to Holy Mass and Holy Communion regularly.

  6. It is normal to make a voluntary contribution to the church on the day of your child’s baptism.

  7. The Sacrament of Baptism takes place on the second Sunday of each month after the 11:00 a.m. Mass.

Sacrament of Matrimony
Arrangements must be made 6 months in advance by the bride and groom in person. Call one of the parish priests before coming. Couples must attend one of the pre-marriage courses.

Holy Communion for Sick & Shut-Ins
Holy Communion will be brought to the home. Please call the rectory when someone is ill and unable to come to church. Prayers may be requested for the sick and the elderly. Also call the rectory when someone is in the hospital.

The Sacrament of Anointing Of The Sick
The sacrament is administered upon request to those seriously ill, permanently handicapped very elderly and those undergoing major surgery.

Funerals
The family of the deceased should please consult the parish staff, concerning the time and place of the funeral before making commitments with the undertaker. The normal setting for the Funeral Mass is the Parish Church.
